Most women buy backless bras for special occasions (think strapless wedding gowns, prom dresses, evening gowns, etc.) But backless bras aren't just for special occasions. They're also perfect for everyday wear to prevent back bulge (that obnoxious back fat that magically appears above and below your bra strap. I know you know what I'm talking about.)
But girls who suffer from back bulge -- myself included -- no longer have any excuses with these new backless bras on (or soon to be on) the market. (Some just look a little stranger than others.) Here are my top five picks:
The Faveo Freedom Bra might look like vice grips for your boobs, but it actually works with the size/shape/weight of your girls to keep them standing at attention (while creating less stress on your back and shoulders). Not convinced? Watch the video. You might just change your mind ;)
Maidenform is introducing their new Breakthrough Backless Bra next month (but they're currently taking pre-orders on their site). Silicone on the wire channeling prevents slippage and strategically positioned straps won't give you back bulge (like every single bra I currently own). I am so getting one of these!
Ultimo's Miracle Backless Bodysuit is a triple threat -- no back bulge, no panty lines, and it shapes your mid-section. It's currently in production and won't be in full distribution until August 2008. But if you're willing to wait a couple weeks and fork out a few bucks, you can place an order at laurensilva.com. (And let me just say, it is worth the wait!)
I have never been a fan of the adhesive-style backless bras. But the Very Bare Backless Bra from Sassybax looks like it might actually do the job without any annoying boob spillage (thanks to the integrated push up pads and support tabs). Of course, the pain-free adhesive is also a big plus in my book. That last thing I need at the end of the day is a bra that won't budge.
The DK Solutions Backless Contour Bra from Donna Karan Intimates might look more like a body belt, but if you're somebody that needs full boob support, this design won't let you down -- literally and figuratively. (Don't worry, the clear straps are soft and won't dig into your skin, even when you're sitting.)

Great material! I think it is very useful for those women suffering from pains in their backs. I think the second and the fourth variants are the best.

I'm able to go without, but there may be a time when I'll want one of these, and if you hadn't posted about them, I'd never have known they were available.
Believe it or not, most of these are for big busted women! (In fact, the first one on the list starts at a size C.)
Re: the DK bra - it's absolute rubbish to claim it won't dig into your skin - it's digging into that bony model's skin in the pic, so imagine the awful trussed ham it would make a "back fat" sufferer resemble!!
Also, clear straps are trashy and definitely not 'invisible'.

I actually have this bra. And while it may appear to "dig," it doesn't actually hurt (like the metal underwire in a bra does). It feels more like elastic against the skin.
As far as the clear straps go, these cross low on the back. Unless you're wearing dress that goes down to your ass crack, nobody will see them.
By the way, you wouldn't happen to be from the Faveo Freedom Bra public relations team, would you?

Calvin Klein had the same Bra as DK. It's called 'CK Solutions 5way bra', a plunge and a push-up. Such a shame it's no longer available in Europe. I have the CK version and would kill for another one but they don't sell it anymore (only in US).
It's great and if I don't want to wear the clear straps i put on the extra straps in the same colour and fabric as the bra. It doesn't look trashy because the straps aren't shiny and are hardly noticeable. I hate classic stick on bras although I'm willing to give the 'very Bare' a chance if i can find it in Europe. So if anyone knows where to find them in Europe :-)

i had a m&s bra very similar to thie last one and it was just about ok, but for d+ i think you just have to accept that straps are an unfortunate part of life.

My wife bought one of those faveo bras recently and is raving about them. She wears it almost every day, even when she's not wearing anything backless and looks great in them!
Also, even though it might not be the sexiest bra, it is by far the easiest bra when it gets to the bedroom (from a man's point of view ;-)).
I actually went out and bought a Faveo Freedom Bra, sat through the whole instruction video, tried it on myself and (after a few tries) I LOVE IT. It is a lot softer and smoother than an underwired bra, it lifts and supports and is completely backless and strapless.
Well worth it!!
