At first glance, the models in Manish Arora's autumn/winter 2008 collection looked like they stepped right out of a science fiction movie. But, if you study each outfit closely, you can see strong influences from the T'ang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.), China's golden age of cosmopolitan culture. (This is also the same period the visually stunning "Curse of the Golden Flower" was set in. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.)
