Just When You Think Tattoos Are a Fad...

I'm not going to lie -- I have two tattoos. One on my foot and one on my back. The first happened at about 2:30 a.m. on my 18th birthday. The other was supposed to 'forever bind me' to my first husband (who, as you probably guessed, is now my ex-husband). So much for resorting to ink to keep a man. Should've used some karate moves instead.

I bring up the topic of tattoos because the headlines are full of tattoo stories right now:

• Scarlett Johansson rocks a "kiddie" tattoo
• L.A. Ink's Kat Von D to release a line of cosmetics with Sephora
• Lindsay Lohan to host a photo exhibition inspired by her tattoos
• Canadian [dumbass] gets world's first ever eyeball tattoo

• Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody wants to get a tattoo of Ellen Page

So, as much as my mother would like to believe that she was right (and that I would live to regret my tattoos) it appears that they still have some shelf-life left in them after all. But, truth be told, I don't plan on getting any more tattoos.

Not that I'm taking the 'tattoo high-road,' I just think two is enough at this point in my life. (You know, like two kids, two slices of birthday cake, two tickets to paradise, etc.) Plus, there are so many cute tattoo-inspired fashions to rock instead:
