In 2003, I received a letter in the mail from Ben & Jerry's notifying me that my "Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream with Strawberries and Thick Graham Cracker Swirl" had been chosen as their newest flavor. I was so excited, I thought I would pee myself. But instead of getting a party thrown in my honor (kidding!) Janet S. from Smithville, MO got a trip for two to Burlington, Vermont to spend a day at Ben & Jerry's, a year's worth of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and a trip for two to the Rock The Vote awards FOR NAMING IT!

Yes, my flavor was named Primary Berry Graham by Ms. S. And while she may have walked away with the prizes, I still have the bragging rights. Nevertheless, I still adore their ice cream (and let me tell you, I pigged out on Primary Berry Graham until my leg fell off -- prize or no prize!) So, in honor of Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day on April 29th, I thought I would pay homage to the frozen treat with a some intersting ice cream tales and product recos :)

SOFT SWIRL MY ASS!

At the Modern Toilet Diner in Taipei, China, guests are served chocolate swirl ice cream in bowls shaped like little toilets. And, while the service may be shitty, the soft serve is delish!

Nestle strategically placed two ice cream booths in Moscow, Russia to do some test marketing. Unfortunately, the locals felt that the image of the woman licking the cone was too suggestive and covered it with a trash dumpster. Now, instead of just looking like a ho, she looks like a trashy ho.
