(The book Nineteen Eighty-Four, in which the government watches us, listens in on our conversations, dictates our every move, etc. gave me nightmares as a teenager. Sounds a little bit like the Patriot Act, doesn't it?) But I'm less put off by accessories that stare back in amazement [and/or disbelief, horror, etc.] I might even get a few to brush up on my staring contest skills. (Yes, I know I'll lose. But I hear that practice makes perfect, and that's what I'm striving for. Okay, maybe not.)
