The collar necklace [no, not blue collar] is one of the oldest forms of jeweled decor worn specifically for the purposes of vanity. The Egyptians were the original purveyors of the collar necklace, with my girl Nefertiti flaunting hers some 50 centuries ago. But, even with vanity as the focal point of this classic look, it's easy to appreciate the modern spin designers are putting on this oversized clavicle adornment. (See, you really don't need solid gold and scarab beetles to turn heads anymore! But you do, unfortunately, need a neck.)
