Playing Dress Up With Do Estilista

Designer Do Estilista gave a whole new meaning to 'girls gone wild' this Tuesday at Sao Paulo Fashion Week by replacing drunk, topless co-eds, with women-turned-adolescent girls.

At a time when five year olds are depicted sporting teased hair and hooker boots, designers like Do Estilista, Reem Acra, Comme des Garçons, and Luella Bartley are giving grown-ups permission to revert to childhood bliss (a time when adult anxieties like global warming, recession, and hyper-sexuality take a back seat to dressing up your cat and organizing your stuffed animals on the bed.)

Why the irony? Is this the collective rant of an entire generation of disillusioned 20 & 30 somethings screaming, "To hell with 80 hour work weeks, dinners from a box, and skin that's completely wiped out by the age of 35. It isn't all it was cracked up to be! Now give me back my Barbie and tea set. I've got a date with Ken." (Like I said before, maybe we really should be playing with dolls.)
