Earlier this year, scientists concluded that the ornate tail feathers of the male peacock don't actually excite female peacocks as originally believed. Instead, it's their shriek-like call that gets the girls worked up. But what these scientists failed to realize is that, while the elaborate plumes of the male peacock do little to excite their female counterparts, they do a tremendous job at catching the eyes of human females. (And it doesn't hurt that they're in style right now.)

Not to mention bad luck! But I'd risk that for the crack at the headband!
Love the business card case!
ya know, it's my shriek-like call that attracts the opposite sex also
Your blogs are always so thoughtful. Good post! :)
Lovely the handband feather.
I didn't saw a lot of this trend in Paris ready to wear shop.

I had no idea I liked so many things peacock until I saw this post. The dress, the silver sandals, the undies, the makeup, oh BOY!
I have heard that these feather are bad luck...why do the beautiful things in life bring us pain?! Haha jk...but really, these items are gorgeous, especially the heart peacock neclace!
I like it all!!! But Jill, I really love the headband and the undies! :)
Great post - peacocks are lovely! Thanks for your comment on the Living post - I agree, wouldn't being an art teacher be great!?
Anything peacock (or feather for that matter) related always catches my eye. I love the color and design. I have the most fab vintage clutch in a similar pattern to that business card case. Love all of your peacocky picks!
Amazing! Love your site.
