Twisting the Dress Fantastic

For the majority of us, the words "balloon twisting" conjure up visions of creepy clowns and balloon dogs. But, as demonstrated earlier this year in Shanghai, balloon couture is alive and well. (There is also an annual balloon fashion show in Europe hosted by Millennium Jam with 'creepy couture' as this year's theme.) And while I would agree that balloon couture isn't practical, there is some real talent behind the art of creating these elaborate fantasy dresses.

That being said, I don't expect to see Heidi Klum hosting 'Project Balloon Dress' anytime soon ("One day you're in, the next day you're out -- of breath") But I do give props to those people who have painstakingly perfected the art of creating fashion out of...um...well...out of air. Who knows, maybe this is the start of something interesting? I can just see Pam Anderson walking down the aisle in a balloon wedding dress. (Don't laugh, I wouldn't put it past her after saying "I do" in a string bikini and captain's hat.)
