Last year, the divine Virgin de Guadalupe was alive and well on Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring '07 runway. (Who could forget?) More recently, she's been spotted on the side of a tree in Tegucigalpa, the side of a rock in Brooksville, Florida, and inside the fleshy wound of a Monterey, California man (which formed after wrecking his motorcycle). Now, Wednesday the 23rd of July 2008, the virgin has been officially spotted on Trend de la Creme ;)
"The Virgin has stepped off the altar, outside the confines of the church. She is a transcultural goddess." - Jacqueline Orsini Dunnington, author of Celebrating Guadalupe

That skirt is to die for. Especially if you can be resurrected after!
Those boots are really elaborate!
Okay, how much do I LOVE this post! The Virgin is my favorite Catholic icon, especially because of all the color and folklore inherent in the image.
I'm also completely drawn to any product that has her featured...

In the end, unfortunately, it all starts to look all too much like Tijuana clap-trap off the back rack.
Too bad. . . THE BIGGEST MISTAKE IN FASHION TODAY IS THERE'S simply NO REAL ART TO BACK IT UP.
Or IS there? STAY TUNED !
