Can somebody please explain how the tuxedo didn't make it onto style.com's fall 2008 trend report? It would seem that every major runway had some iteration of the classic tuxedo -- from neck-cinching bowties and pleated shirts, to boxy shoulders and shiny lapels. The only catch was that women are rocking the tux this time -- a clear sign that the 'ladies man' is once again a lady.

It's a style that seems to ebb and flow in popularity but hasn't really completely fallen out of favor since Yves Saint Laurent introduced Le Smoking tuxedo in 1966. (I imagine the androgynous gods got together and decreed 2008 the year of mixing masculine and feminine characteristics in fashion. You did see the Prada tutu for men, didn't you?)
