Designer Ann Sofie Back's thong-a-licious Fall '08 collection (which featured sleeves, trims, accessories, and even an entire skirt made from lacy thong underwear) was a concerted -- albeit unsuccessful -- attempt at exposing the thong as a cheap, overexposed bit of ass candy. With the full coverage panty becoming the preferred unmentionable, the thong has surely lost it's steam over the past year. But, as most of you would agree, creating sleeves out of butt floss totally misses the mark.
Enter the "skong" -- the full coverage skirted thong that leaves a little mystery in the front while showing all [or most] of the goods in back. A definite nod to the days of Raquel Welch wearing little more than strips of dead animal in One Million Years BC. (Now if we could just convince Sisqo to record the "Skong Song," all would be right in the world.)

I still love thongs. I don't care how it looks, I just care that it stays in place!
I don't need Sisqo to tell me after reading this I KNOW all's right with the world!
ps the link you send me - worn back with the skong is what I'd consider tasteful...in case you were wondering.
too bad they don't have any made from animal hide scraps ;P
Honestly, I'm into this look. I mean, it's hard to put pants on top of the skong but that's not really what they're made for!
Do you think they got their inspiration from Paris Hiltons events wardrobe?
I love it!
The skong looks cute but somehow doesn't trip off the tongue quite right.... not just yet anyways.
And just how handy is that under pants???
Ive always liked the look, and it took this post for me to realize that it actually had a name: the skong. Thanks Trend de la Creme!
