At some point this year, the gladiator sandal and the spat had a baby. Thus, the couture shin guard was born. (Does this mean Michael Jackson's shin guard fashion faux pas was actually fashion forward? Okay, maybe not.) Seriously, if you can pull it off, I say run with it :)

I wanted to hate this marriage, but the Hong Kong polytech brought me on board.
For me, it makes more sense over tights or pants. I don't dig it so much over bare skin, but maybe it's more subversive, and therefore more powerful that way.
