According to WWD, the inspiration behind Christopher Kane's Spring 2009 collection was [drum roll please] "The Planet of the Apes," "The Flintstones" and Raquel Welch. (What, no loin cloths?) And before you say, “This shit’s bananas,” let me be the first to say that I think there really IS a method to his madness. (Well, maybe except for the rabid chimps.)
In this latest collection [easily identifiable by the layered bits of circular fabric] Kane appears to have resurrected his fall ‘08 “scales” by using them to enhance his silhouettes instead of defining them. (Smart move, Kane. Smart move.) But the combination of fabric flaps, bright colors, frayed edges, and festive silhouettes had me seeing paper-maché piñatas instead of party dresses. The perfect segue into an early afternoon Margarita, no? (And yes. The last picture in this series really IS an ass piñata for anyone who might be wondering.) Now what did I do with my baseball bat...

the ass pinata, maybe better than the boob cake?
Best Ever.
I am fearful of pinatas, however.
(my computer won't put a tilde on top of an "n.")
