Hinted at by Balenciaga and Jum Naoko in 2007, fueled by Marc Jacobs and Joy Haan in 2008, and re-invigorated by Reyes in 2009, the 'LEGO as fashion' phenom doesn't appear to be losing any steam. And with the proliferation of a new batch of LEGO accessories, the Danish-made toy trend doesn't appear to be on it's way out anytime soon, either.
According to Christa Mackey of Bella Online, the 'LEGO System of Play' came into being in 1955 with 28 different sets and 8 vehicles. But it wasn't until 1958 that the LEGOs we know and love were invented and patented. Fifty years later, it's Legomania. LEGO dresses, LEGO fine art, LEGO sex tapes, LEGO cars [I could do this forever, but I'll spare you the anguish]. So, is it really any surprise to see accessory designers having a little fun with it?
Chanel (2007), LEGO Wonder Woman, and Jum Nakao (Spring 2008)Legomania went slightly off the deep end in 2000 when The LEGO Group started promoting 'LEGO Serious Play,' a form of business consultancy in which team members build metaphors of their organizational identities and experiences using LEGO bricks 'to foster creative thinking.' (I wish I was kidding, but it's true. *sigh*)

And, in all of this LEGO hustle and bustle, the only thing that pisses me off is this: Where was the LEGO Pink Brick Box and Horse Stable when I was growing up?

I guess I know what I'll be wearing to the rave tonight.
If only I wasn't so old, I'd go to a rave^^ with a pile of Lego stuff on!
Wait, do they still have raves? ;)
It’s a great fun and it’s all so beautiful the spring fashion 2009. As fashion is the name of change, so everything is new for us and looks very beautiful.
