According to an article just released by The Canadian Press, Karl Lagerfeld is so overexposed, he's getting sick of himself. "I'm suffering from an overdose of myself," Lagerfeld told reporters after his Chanel S/S 2009 show last Friday. "At a certain point, you ask yourself, am I a puppet or not?" That's funny. I could have sworn I just saw a Karl Lagerfeld handbag, complete with a picture of his face, on his very own S/S 2009 runway. (Now THAT, my friends, is unrequited vanity.)

So, maybe my Karl Lagerfeld cell phone holder and custom Karl Keds aren't helping the situation, but this girl knows a cult following when she sees one. Let's see, there's his new book 'Metamorphoses of an American,' a cameo appearance in the latest 'Grand Theft Auto' video game, the cover of 'Prestige' magazine, the film 'Lagerfeld Confidential,' AND a French highway safety ad....WTF? Wait, I haven't even gotten to the "take out" menu...

Translation: "It's yellow, it's ugly, it doesn't match anything, but it can save your life."

Seriously, for somebody who was once quoted as saying, "I'm not a marketing person. I don't ask myself questions. I go by instinct," he's got some heavy-duty self promotion going on. Not that I can blame him. He is, after all, Karl Lagerfeld. (Now, where do I put my Karl Lagerfeld cigarette case and matching lighter?)
