As you can imagine, I get a million emails a day from companies asking me to check out their wares. So, when I was asked to check out iOffer.com, I was like, "Yeah. Okay. Whatevs." Homepage? Nothing to write home about. Searchability? A little "glitchy." All prices negotiable? Stop right there! Now THIS is something I can get interested in...
Here's the deal: iOffer.com is like a virtual swap meet. You have to sift through some stinkers to find the gems. But when you find one, you feel like a real super sleuth. Like Priceline, you can "name your price" on everything from clothing and accessories to electronics and housewares. (Ignore the price tags, they're only there if you're NOT interesting in bartering the price down.) It's not like eBay where the clock is ticking. You're not trying to outbid the competition. It really just depends on how the seller is feeling when they get your offer. (There is even an option to swap -- yes, I said SWAP -- if you'd rather pay with "stuff" instead of cash.)
Of course, like any swap meet, you're going to find fakes and "too good to be true" items. So, check out the seller before you make an offer (unless you're looking for a knock off, that is!) And with the economy in the shitter for yet another holiday season, the opportunity to name your price is a blessing in disguise. Check out some of the items I found:
