(Or is that, when the carpet matches the drapes? Oh, hell.)
Lincoln: The New Bling
At a time when thankless displays of wealth are at an all time low, trading in your Benjamin's for Lincoln's says to the world, "I'm broke. Who gives a shit?" (Now I'm just holding out for the music establishment to flash their copper grillz and matching granite-studded Jacob & Co.’s famous 5-Time Zone Watch. Now THAT, my friends, would be something.)

Inspired by the Starling
London-based designer, Carl Starling, was recently selected as a finalist in a competition held by Fashion156.com. His entry, an intricately draped duo-tone dress entitled "Samurai" beautifully captures the brute strength of 12th century warrior armor. But it's angled folds and wavy pleats also reminded me of something slightly more delicate -- the malleable shell plates and girdle of the duo-tone Chiton, a pre-historic mollusk that dates back almost 10 million years and continues to mesmerize divers with it's intricate design.

Currently Obsessed With: Heal Fashion Lab
Jaw-dropping detail never ceases to amaze me, which is why I'm obsessed with the first collection from Heal Fashion Lab. Hervé and Alice (the Paris-based dynamic duo behind the label) don't just have me drooling like a wild dog, they also have me panting, doing back flips, and slapping myself in the face. Can you blame me?!

I Have Brains on the Brain

I've heard the brain described as many things -- not one of them the least bit fashionable. But, hey. To each his own, right? In fact, if you've got a big one, why not flaunt it? Or at the very least, wear it out for all the world to see. (P.S. If you ever get stuck in an MRI machine for a brain scan, bring an iPod and a sleep mask. Better yet, don't ever get stuck in an MRI machine.)
