A throw back to the classic side show, or just fashionable indecision?
Lashes to Lashes, Dust to Dust
As the trend in lashes continues to move in the 'bigger is better' direction, I'm becoming a little desperate. Thankfully, for those of us who find no relief in lash growing serums, lash building mascaras, and heated eyelash curlers, the false eyelash is a secret guilty pleasure. (I'd be lying if I didn't admit to the help of some lash glue and a pair of Ardell Demi 101's from time to time). No longer relegated to 'event only' status (or cross dressing for that matter!) false eyelashes continue to become all the more sophisticated -- from fur and feathers to seed pearls and Swarovski crystals -- giving the plain 'ol lash a inferiority complex.
But at what point does the 'unnatural lash' trend hit a brick wall? For day-to-day false lashes, probably never. For over-the-top glam lashes, there's still some time before it fizzles out. But, unlike most trends that suddenly experience a huge falling out, I'd bet my crapped-put 401K that going 'lashless' is still a ways off. And because I fancy myself somewhat of a trend mystic, here are my predictions for the next wave of lashy goodness.
1) DOLL LASHES
Lower lashes as the focal point (with false or painted-on lashes)
3) FAR REACHING LASHES
Extending beyond the eyebrow, like the legs of a spider.

5) GARDEN LASHES
Everything from flower petals and tendrils to leaves and vines.

Charles Jourdan Shoes Have Gone Off the Deep End
I am usually a fan, but these $175 banana leaf flip-flops have rendered me speechless. Is it just me, or are these even too ugly for the Jolly Green Giant? (Poor Charles Jourdan is turning in his grave. He never would have associated his name with these!)

The Latest Triumph for Underwear

Every year I look forward to the Triumph Inspiration Awards at Bunka Fashion College in Japan, and this year is no exception. My favorite by far would have to be the swan bra. But the suit of armor definitely comes in a close second!
