Currently Obsessed With: Tiny Wearable Plants

A tiny living plant I can wear? Um, hell-to-the-friggin-yes! These adorable GemSprout pendants are approximately 1.5" tall and come with detailed instructions on how to care for them. (Alot easier than you might think!) The eco-capsule is made of recycled plastic, and contains an organic plant from Central Florida. Best part? They cost a mere $7-$10 USD each.

Surprisingly, they're almost completely maintenance free. Like all plants they require earth, sun, and water. Each is planted in a special nutrient-rich soil pad that promotes water absorption and strong stems. Once a month, simply place your GemSprout in a shallow dish of water for 2 - 3 minutes. For cacti, water only every 12 weeks. A few hours of sunlight each day will keep it happy. And, once you notice the plant is outgrowing the capsule (normally between 6 months and a year) simply replant it in a larger container, or out in the garden.

GemSprouts is a USA based company trying to make a difference in the world by offering high quality living plant pendants that are not only unique and beautiful, but inexpensive and help the environment. All of our pendants are made of recycled plastic and the plants come from pesticide and chemical free greenhouses. A portion of all proceeds are contributed to Conservation International (www.conservation.org).

Strange Glove

If 2010 gave us Dolce & Gabbana glove belts/scarves and Philip Treacy glove hats, then F/W 2011 will be giving us 'strange glove.'

Girls Can Smell Like Gentleman's Clubs, Too

Imagine being enveloped by the foggy arms of a handful of hunky men smoking Cubans in leisure suits. Okay, now wake up. This is the promise tobacco-scented beauty products hope to deliver on. All the warmth and pleasantries of the fruity end -- not the cancer end -- of the mostly-universally-despised cigarette. Deep, moist and pungent, with touches of sweetness and spice. Enough to keep your man-on-girl-on-man fantasies alive, if only for a fleeting moment. Unless, that is, smelling like a walking humidor is not your cup of tea.

Yay or Nay? Fingernail Cones

I just spotted these feather-tipped fingernail cones on Himma Wong's S/S 2012 runway at Hong Kong Fashion Week. A likely nod toward fingernail protectors worn the elite Manchu court ladies of the late Qing dynasty. I'm definitely intrigued by their ethereal design (aside from the fact that they lack an ounce of practicality.) Do we have any takers?
