Wolves are universally the most misunderstood of all wild animals. Tales of their coldblooded cunning abound in folklore, legends, and children's stories, despite their friendly, social and intelligent traits. Wolves are fiercely loyal to their mates, and have a strong sense of community while maintaining a striking level of individualism. And they are truly free spirits even though their packs are highly organized.
Known as 'the teachers,' they have been long considered by the First Nations people as pathfinders. Throughout history, they have represented free will, unity, and strength. And, in emerging fashion, they are representing bold style, fearlessness, and a fierce desire to stand apart from the crowd. And that's a concept I think we can all stand behind.

This post was inspired by a recent visit to Wolf Hollow, a non-profit wolf reserve in Ipswich, Massachusetts that offers visitors a unique opportunity to view gray wolves in their natural environment. The organization is dedicated to educating the public about the importance of the wolf in the wild as top predator and alleviating the threat to their populations.
